District 10 Update: June 27, 2024

As we approach the end of Pride Month, we at the Board reflect on the significant legacy of the Stonewall riots, a pivotal event that unfolded on June 28, 1969, when police raided the Stonewall Inn, a vital gathering place for the LGBTQ+ community in New York City's Greenwich Village. 55 years later, the Westchester County Board of Legislators Family Task Force, co-chaired by Legislator Nancy Barr and Kathy Halas, Executive Director of the Child Care Council of Westchester, hosted a dynamic virtual panel discussion focused on hate crimes, incidents, and discrimination. This event underscores our ongoing commitment to driving positive change by empowering residents and legislators alike with the knowledge and tools needed to address these pressing issues, today. District 10 Update: June 14, 2024

Please join us on Monday, June 17th before our regular board meeting for our annual celebration of Caribbean-American Heritage Month , streaming live from the BOL Chamber at 7 p.m.  We are proud to be recognizing two outstanding individuals,  Victoria Bayard Tipp,  Town of New Castle Supervisor , who I served with on the Westchester Putnam School Boards Association, and and Effie Phillips , Yonkers Community Advocate.
