District 10 Update: February 28, 2025

I'm pleased to share that my bipartisan Misuse of Digital Deception Bill was signed into law this week by County Executive Ken Jenkins. When leaders focus on principled values like safeguarding the public and ensuring accountability, government works! You can read more about the bill signing here . Speaking of values, this week I also stood with community leaders to speak out against hate and bigotry, standing in solidarity with both the immigrant and Jewish communities. Human nature often draws us toward those who look like us, sound like us, and experience life like us. But differences should not divide us. Those who are not like us are not our enemies. They are simply different.   We should all be allies in the fight against hate in all its forms. District 10 Update: February 13, 2025

Earlier this week, the Board of Legislators unanimously passed my Digital Deception Bill . This bipartisan law, developed with the Law Department and the DA's Office, closes gaps in existing laws by making AI-generated impersonation and non-consensual obscene deepfakes a misdemeanor.  With all 16 of my colleagues co-sponsoring, this bill is now one step closer to becoming law. The final step is for our newly elected County Executive to sign it. Westchester is leading the way in protecting residents from AI-driven fraud and harm! And I'm speaking to state and federal officials to explore using this as a model to protect even more people. District 10 Update: February 7, 2025

Dear Friends and Neighbors,  This week showcased the strength of education in our community. The New Rochelle Fund for Educational Excellence held its annual gala, celebrating four outstanding New Rochelle High School seniors for their achievements, and honoring three extraordinary adults whose contributions have made a profound impact. I also had the pleasure of presenting a Certificate of Merit to a New Rochelle student who was named a Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar for her project, "Music to My Eyes," which studies Synesthesia, a neurological condition that causes people to experience two or more senses simultaneously (in this case, hearing music and seeing colors).
